Resumen: In the field of software variability management, the predominant approach involves initially utilizing feature models to articulate variability explicitly at the domain level. Subsequently, feature location techniques are employed to link these features with software artifacts, such as models and source code. This approach enables the creation of a detailed feature map, simplifying the process of variability instantiation by facilitating the generation of variants tailored to specific configurations. Research within the Software Product Line (SPL) community has extensively explored this approach, focusing on developing methods for the effective manipulation of feature models and their configurations, as well as the creation of comprehensive feature maps across software assets. However, these solutions have largely been framed within the only context of variability management and variant derivation.

The objective of this keynote presentation is to advocate for the idea that the implications of feature mapping extend well beyond its traditional scope in variability management. After presenting our feature mapping solution through the Mobioos Forge tool, we will illustrate its wide-ranging utility, with a particular emphasis on advancing code quality analysis.
